Mission
Red Oak, an Evangelical Free Church, exists to:
Introduce people to Jesus Christ
We believe that a relationship with Jesus Christ is the most important relationship in all of life, that it forms the foundation and the wellspring for living life as God intended.
Jesus said that He had come to bring life to people, life in all of its fullness. And yet, so many people settle for mere existence.
Is there something more to this life than living and dying, than going through the motions of day-in, day-out existence?
We are convinced that there is, and that meaning and purpose are found in aligning ourselves with God’s plan for life, centered in a relationship of faith in Jesus Christ.
We endeavor to invite others into this relationship!
Incorporate them into His Body
We are committed to the truth that there is no such thing as a solitary Christian, that our identity as followers of Jesus cannot be seen apart from our relationship to others who also make up part of His body.
We are committed to each other, “doing life together” as followers of Christ.
Our goal will not be to see how many people we can get to “make a decision for Christ”, but rather to do as Christ commanded us to, to “make disciples”.
Involvement in a local expression of Christ’s body (the local church) is an indispensable part of this!
Instruct them in His Truth
We believe that we have a mandate from God to teach and proclaim God’s truth to those who become followers of Christ by faith.
It is absolutely vital that we be people who are committed to growing in our relationship with Christ, and the way that that happens is through the intake of God’s Word, the Bible.
We will place an emphasis upon teaching the Word of God in an effective and meaningful way.
Involve them in His mission
We believe that God has given to each of His followers a mission in this world, and we fully intend to discover what that mission looks like in our own lives, sensing how God has gifted us and burdened us, and then deploying the gifts that God has given to each of us to impact the world for the cause of Christ.
